A Visit of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, to the National Archives

SLOVENIA, July 9 - At the archives, located at Poljanska cesta 40 in Ljubljana, she was welcomed by the Director of the Archives of RS, Dr. Andrej Nared, and his colleagues. The President was given a tour of the renovated former military barracks along Roška and Poljanska cesta, where the Slovenian state archives relocated in October of last year.

The visit was especially important because the President of the Republic is the honorary patron of this year's 80th anniversary of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. The main purpose of the visit was to present to the President the rich history, organizational structure and the diversity of the activities of the national archives and the challenges it faces.

During her visit, the President had an opportunity to view some of the visually interesting and content-rich documents, preserved at the Archives, and to see the exhibition “From Film to Archives”, which was prepared in celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Slovenian film.

The visit concluded with an informal gathering with all staff members of the national archives.
